Cat5E, also known as Cat5 enhanced (Cat5e) are still the standard patch cords in today computer networking environments. Cat5e cables are used to connect computers, printers, and other networking equipment. Cat5E cables are made of copper wire and runs are good up to 350' and are capable of achieve Gigabit network speed, however Cat5e cables cannot be "certified (fully compliant)" gigabit cables.
